



October has been a good month for the Newman Smith High School Debate team!
On October 18th & 19th at the Naaman Forest High School Tournament several students brought home accolades.
- CJ Sanchez placed 3rd in Impromptu Speaking.
- Suhani Jampala placed 3rd in Lincoln Douglas Debate. Suhani has a 10-6 record in her 1st month of debate as a 9th grade student, a promising start to her debate career!
- Hannah Brown reached the elimination rounds for the 2nd consecutive tournament. She was also a quarterfinalist at the Prosper Tournament on October 11th & 12th.
- Nichalous Rook reached the Semifinals in Extemporaneous Speaking.
Newman Smith Debate will compete again at Hebron on November 1st.
