Law Academy Students Boyer & Askew are Top in NationCreekview High School Law Academy students Boyer and Askew are heading to Washington for the National Moot Court Competition. Over a two week period, the Harlan Institute has conducted semifinals for its Virtual Moot Court. Three CHS teams advanced to this semifinal round based on written briefs and recorded oral arguments. The teams then argued virtually against teams from across the nation and before judges utilizing Google’s videoconferencing app. On Mar. 29, the CHS team of Joanna Boyer and Makaylia Askew advanced to the final round. Therefore, have been selected as the top respondent team in the nation. The team will face off against the top petitioner team in Washington, D.C. on Apr. 26.

Additionally, Simon Peña and Mahak Merchant were the runner-up petitioner team and will receive a cash prize. Amena Tep and Aileen Mai also advanced and competed in semifinals.
