Carrollton Farmers Branch is dedicated to providing our students with technology through the Universal Access Program. This program has two parts:
Lending Library – computers and modems available on campuses for check out from campus library
- Each campus has laptop computers and modems for check out from the library for students needing them to do school work; laptops are also Wi-Fi capable
- Laptops provided are compliant with the rules for the Children’s Internet Protection Rules
- Parents are required to sign a permission slip before these can be taken home
- Check out is for a short period – two weeks or until completion of assignment
Home Access Program – these are computers available to be given to families in our district
- These computers are those that have outlived their use in the district and are reimaged
- The computers are loaded with a free version of a word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software.
- Free antivirus program loaded to help prevent viruses.
- Families are recommended for these computers by their campuses
- Selection is based on need
- This program is only available as computers from the district are accessible.
