Carpentry Department

The Carpentry Department is made up of a Department Head, Lead Man, five Carpenters, – seven positions total, which covers 55 facilities, and 99 Modular Classrooms. This is a total Building Area of 4.8 million sq. ft. That’s 378,113 sq. ft. per person.
The Carpentry Department is responsible for a wide spectrum of Maintenance items along with a large portion of the in-house construction, casework, ADA modifications, and custom made devices for disabled students.
We maintain all of the standard carpentry type items, such as doors, overhead doors, security gates, windows, walls, cabinets, stairs, ramps and landings. Along with that, we handle a multitude of other things that don’t fall into the carpentry category, such as all flooring, bleachers, stage riggings, curtains, mini-blinds, office furniture, student desks, tables, toilet partitions, chalkboards, basketball goals, etc.
Most of the time, the Carpentry Department will have at least a portion of the personnel concentrating on in-house renovations and projects, leaving the remaining people to cover the items described above.
