CFB Students Make LTAB Slam Poetry Team. On Apr. 18, students from Turner, Smith, Creekview, and Ranchview High Schools competed against students from around the DFW metroplex in a Slam Poetry event. At the Louder Than a Bomb (LTAB) event, three students made the Brave New Voices Team. A poetry slam is a competition in which poets perform spoken word poetry. Samantha “Sam” Bohn from Turner High School and Emma Hoffman from Creekview High School made the team. Additionally, from Creekview, Delyse Leslie not only made the team, she was also dubbed the Grand Slam Champion. These three CFB students will travel with other DFW team members to Houston July 18-21 to compete on the national level at the Brave New Voices Slam Poetry Competition.
