On Nov. 8, CFBISD held the 2018 Fifth Grade Career Fair at the ESDC Building. Students from across the district were taken by bus to the event. The event is held so that students can learn more about career opportunities and fields of interest they may have not previously considered or knew existed. Students took notes and met with representatives from various businesses and organizations in the public and private sector. Students asked questions and were given detailed answers about opportunities in the various career fields. Booths present at the event included RLT FFA, Carrollton Police Department, Carrollton Fire Department, CareFlite, and many others. The annual tradition helps to jumpstart ideas for students who aren’t always sure how to answer the question, “what do you want to do when you grow up?” As these opportunities open up other avenues of study, it can begin to prepare students to plan on which CFB Academy they would like to attend when they enter high school. Eighth graders are currently learning more about these academies through Nov. 15.
