Central Elementary Hosts Literacy Night

Facebooktwitterpinterestmail

Central Elementary hosted its Annual Literacy Night. Upon entering, students chose one book and followed their parents to various locations to learn comprehension strategies to use with their new books. Parents and students then “traveled” through Literacy Land to hear stories from Dr. Seussville, Fairy Tale Land, Land of Scary Stories and North of Nonfiction, where they learned about landforms and regional habitats. Travelers carried a Literacy Land passport, which was stamped upon leaving each land. When their passports were complete, they chose another book; thus, taking two brand new books home to add to their home libraries.
