Celebrating Our Principals

Texas Governor, Greg Abbott, has proclaimed the month of October as “Principals Month” in Texas. As you know, school leadership is vital to the success of all students. Governor Abbott reminds us that our principals are entrusted with our most valuable resource – our next generation of leaders. The announcement coincides with the designation of October as National Principals Month by a U.S. House of Representatives resolution. The month-long celebration is an opportunity for schools to recognize that high-quality, visionary principal leadership is essential to school success, and to hold activities to engage students, staff, parents and the community in honoring their principals.

Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD principals set the academic tone for their campus and work collaboratively with teachers to set performance objectives and maintain high curriculum standards. Each principal creates a culture of innovation and a climate of nurturing, while providing unwavering support, serving as instructional leaders and setting high expectations for students. Effectively leading our excellent teachers and staff to meet the academic, physical, social, safety, and emotional needs of our students requires creative and intentional management strategies. Principals have an enormous job running a school. Our principals must wear many hats including facilities manager, workplace supervisor, and instructional leader. It takes dedication and expertise to manage these roles. CFBISD is fortunate to have talented principals who are committed to student learning, educator well-being, and a strong sense of school and community.

These are just a few of the important ways principals make an impact on education in Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD. The motto of the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals is, “Above All, Students First.” Our administrators clearly work to take care of the needs of our students above all else! We are fortunate to have our principals working to ensure that every student has access to a high-quality education.
