Blalack Middle School congratulates Olive Thomas! She won 3rd place in the Patriot’s Pen contest. Â Her essay was selected from almost 500 entries. Â This VFW-sponsored youth essay competition gives students an opportunity to write essays expressing their views on an annual patriotic theme. The theme this year: “The America I Believe In.”
