On August 30, first grade students at Thompson Elementary enjoyed an exploration of pattern shape cutouts during their Math geometry unit. Students enjoyed having the option of filling in their geometry figures with pattern blocks or glueing cutouts. Students are studying how they can fill in the same figure with the most and least amount of pattern shapes. As one student said, “there’s so many different ways to fill in the same shape! That’s crazy!”
