The 2018 Texas Smart Schools (formerly known as FAST) ratings have been released. Â This study compares academic growth and financial efficiency of all schools and districts in Texas. Â CFBISD was one of 28 public school districts in Texas to receive the highest rating of five stars. Only five other districts of comparable or larger size were also awarded five stars.
Districts receive a composite rating of between one and five stars, with five being the best. The composite rating is determined by averaging an academic and a financial rating for each district. The academic rating is based on student gains in reading and mathematics scores on the STAAR test, while the financial rating is based on adjusted average spending per student — the less a district spends the higher it will score.  Congratulations to our students, staff, and administration for your hard work in helping CFB attain this honor.
