Chad Hunter
Vikings! My name is Chad Hunter and I am so honored and privileged to serve as the principal of Vivian Field Middle School! I have passionately been in education for 13 years and all but one of those have been in Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD. I have been an instructor of English in many grade levels at the high school level for both Newman Smith High School and Ranchview High School. I have learned and grown as an administrator at both Creekview High School as 9th Grade Assistant Principal, and Associate Principal at Ranchview High School.
My purpose in life is to support student scholars in academic growth, character traits through fine arts and athletics, and leading all those around me to strive for excellence. I truly believe that all students at VFMS can be successful in high school, can be college bound, and career ready upon graduation to contribute to society in a positive way. Middle school is such a vital point in our scholars lives to develop, mature and start the process of setting high expectations for themselves.
I will always treat our student scholars the way I would want my own children treated. I have a son named Connor, a daughter named Landon, and caring and devoted wife named Kristen. The Viking family is my family away from home!
As leader I plan to communicate effectively, lean on a strong team for collaboration, and most importantly always put students best interest above all else!
Our motto at Vivian Field is Vikings “Row the Boat!” Each day we put our oars in the water and row toward student growth and success. We never look back and trust if we keep rowing together we will reach our destination. Every minute of each day with our scholars is about “Keep Rowing!” We understand that our scholars are at all different levels, and will meet them where they are on that journey with data driven instruction.
To do this we must be a “Fearless Family,” willing to take risks together and model what it means to come out of your comfort zone to seek greatness.
Each day I serve Vivian Field, I will do so with a relentless work ethic and unwavering positive attitude. Our teachers are the most impactful piece to drive student achievement forward. I will simplify and support them, so their focus is on our student scholars.
I encourage our parents and community members to jump on the “boat” with us and start “rowing!” Join the PTA, volunteer, make sure your parent square/parent self-serve is set up (if you need support on this, we’d be happy to help, just give us a call), and make your child’s education a priority at home!
Thank you for trusting our team with your students education!
