Students Participate in Texas Walks 2017

Students at Field Middle School and Farmers Branch Elementary participated in the Texas Walks 2017 campaign. In an effort to improve the health of Texans state-wide, It’s Time Texas calls for Texans to walk for 10 minutes on October 10.  Dr. Thomas Frieden, Director of the CDC states, “Physical Activity is the closest thing we have to a wonder drug.” In this effort, students and communities across the state are walking while promoting healthier lifestyles. It’s Time Texas is a nonprofit organization that is focused on improving health and wellness in Texas. They provide free programs, tools, and services to empower Texans to lead healthier lives. During the activity, teachers and students at Farmers Branch Elementary walked across their soccer field. While the FBE students were walking, the students and staff at Field Middle School walked around their campus.
