Emergencies
We respond daily to such emergencies as…
- Power outages
- Tripped breakers
- Burning smells
- Fire and security alarm malfunctions.
In the remodeling and construction we work closely with the other departments to provide the electrical portion of all in house computer lab, classroom, office, and restroom, renovations and construction projects as well as providing electrical outlets for new copiers and new technology equipment.
In the summer months we have the additional task of providing the electrical, fire alarm, security, public address service to the numerous modular classrooms that we relocate each year.
Most of what we do goes unnoticed by the teachers and students. For we work mostly behind the scenes as we attempt to blend in with the surroundings so as not to disrupt the learning process that goes on around us every day. And it is without a doubt that our number one priority is the safety of every person who enters one of our facilities.

There are four areas of this department working as one to solve problems that arise with the HVAC-R equipment.
- The heating and air conditioning service area repairs any problems with heating or cooling.
- The refrigeration area repairs freezers, coolers, milk boxes, ice cream boxes and ice machines.
- The CSI computer controls for building energy management systems controlled by computer.
- Preventative maintenance area handles filters, checks belts, bearings, motors, and pulleys on heating, air conditioning and ventilation equipment.
All of the above have to do with comfort and temperature. There are three things that causes equipment failure or non-performance
- Climate
- Age of equipment
- Human intervention
