Girls Inspired to Pursue Engineering Opportunities

Middle School Girls Explore Engineering

On Mar. 1, Employees from ExxonMobil celebrated “Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day” at the Irving Convention Center, inspiring students to pursue engineering interests. By inviting more than 50 DFW-area middle school girls to take part in many interactive demonstrations of engineering in action, the students were able to learn about many career paths within the engineering profession. Presenters from the Perot Museum of Nature and Science aided in the presentations. Among those in attendance were students from Dan F. Long Middle School, who put their innovative thinking skills to the test as they built marble roller coasters and created marshmallow launchers during the annual event.
